The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival-crafting game that leans heavily on atmosphere, familiarity, and the appeal of Tolkien’s world. Its underground journey through Moria has enough personality to pull in Middle-earth fans right away: the clatter of pickaxes, the echoing tunnels, and the sense that you’re slowly reclaiming a lost kingdom all work in its favor. ## What works The game’s core loop is solid. Gathering resources, upgrading tools, and expanding your base piece by piece creates a satisfying sense of progress. It plays especially well in co-op, where shared planning and building help smooth over the slower stretches.
