Activision Cracks Down on Call of Duty Warzone Boosting Services

Mar 26, 2024 12:25 PM

Activision is clamping down on the use of boosting services in Call of Duty Warzone, with a direct warning that players who participate in artificially inflating their Skill Rating (SR) will face bans. The recent surge in 'bot lobbies', largely orchestrated by a Chinese boosting service, has created an unfair environment and has led to the top of the leaderboards being dominated by players who cheat their way up. In tackling this issue, Activision has announced that its team, TeamRicochet, has carried out ban waves resulting in 29,000 bans and plans to pursue all technical and legal options to shut these services down. This stance coincides with the upcoming launch of Season 3 featuring Rebirth Island on April 3, enhancing the integrity of Call of Duty Warzone and its new mobile version, which features cross-progression with Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone on console and PC.

What are the consequences for using boosting services in Call of Duty Warzone?

Players found to be using boosting services to increase their Skill Rating will be banned from Call of Duty Warzone.

Call of Duty Warzone has become one of the most popular battle royale games since its release in March 2020, developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software and published by Activision. The game is part of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise and integrates with the latest title in the series. As an online multiplayer game, maintaining fair play is crucial to its success and community integrity. The Warzone series has seen consistent updates, in-game events, and a strong anti-cheat enforcement, highlighting Activision's commitment to providing a competitive and enjoyable gaming experience free from exploits.
