In Sony's recent State of Play presentation, Capcom announced the upcoming Separate Ways DLC for Resident Evil 4 Remake, which will be released in September. In this addition to the game, players can control the character, Ada Wong, as she embarks on a mission to a European village controlled by a religious group named Los Iluminados. Ordered by Albert Wesker, Ada's task is to discover the group's dark secret - a substance called the Amber. Her story intertwines with Leon S. Kennedy’s search for the president’s kidnapped daughter, offering an alternate look into the main narrative, revealing hidden events.

In addition to the usual combat and knife mechanics of Resident Evil 4, the Separate Ways DLC comes with an exciting new feature: the Grappling Gun. Ada can use this tool to swing across gaps, ascend quickly and also perform sudden descents. It's not just a navigation tool - she can use it in close combat and to execute melee take downs from a distance. This new game addition will cost $9.99 and will be available from September 21 on various platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

In the same announcement, an update for The Mercenaries was revealed, which will include Ada Wong and Albert Wesker as playable characters. The trailer also teases a sneak peek of the Resident Evil 4 VR Mode. This mode, which will be free DLC for PlayStation VR2 this winter, allows players to experience Resident Evil 4's main campaign in a new and immersive way. It includes features such as dual wielding, realistic weapon interactions, and enhanced knife action.
