Fans of the horror survival game Dead by Daylight have exciting news to look forward to as protagonist Alan Wake from the popular psychological thriller video game series will join as a playable character starting January 30th. This crossover brings Alan Wake to Dead by Daylight with an appearance based on his look from the most recent game installment. The character will feature voice and likeness from actor Ilkka Villi and voice actor Matthew Porretta, enhancing the authenticity for fans of the series. Alan Wake will have three unique perks: Champion of Light, which offers speed and a blinding flashlight; Illumination, revealing the aura of generators and chests; and Deadline, which aids in healing and repairing when players are injured.

What unique abilities will Alan Wake have in Dead by Daylight?

Alan Wake will come with three distinct perks in Dead by Daylight: 'Champion of Light' makes players faster and grants a flashlight to temporarily blind killers, 'Illumination' allows all players to see the auras of generators and chests, and 'Deadline' provides healing and generator repair speed boosts when players are wounded.

Alan Wake, developed by Remedy Entertainment, first captivated players with its release in 2010 as an Xbox exclusive, blending elements of mystery and horror set in a small town engulfed by darkness. The storyline follows Wake, a bestselling thriller novelist, as he attempts to uncover the mystery behind his wife's disappearance while experiencing events from his latest book, which he doesn't remember writing. The title has since become a cult classic, known for its atmospheric setting, story depth, and the use of light as a gameplay mechanic. The recent interest in the franchise was rekindled by the announcement of Alan Wake 2, driving fan excitement for more content featuring the iconic character. The inclusion of Alan Wake in Dead by Daylight, a game known for bringing together various horror franchises, is a treat for horror game enthusiasts and serves as a bridge between the two popular series.
