The much-anticipated Alone in the Dark reboot has experienced another delay. Initially scheduled for an October release, the game was then postponed to January 2024 and now fans will have to wait until 20 March 2024 to get their hands on it. THQ Nordic, the publisher, is ensuring that the development process allows for the well-being of the Pieces Interactive team, and maintains their commitment to delivering a high-quality game experience.

Being described as a "love letter" to the original title, this new Alone in the Dark will let players explore the enigmatic Derceto mansion through the eyes of either Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood, voiced by David Harbour and Jodie Comer, respectively. Players can already get a taste of the game's atmosphere through a free playable prologue that doesn't include combat, set weeks before the main storyline.

The game, priced at €59.99, is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S platforms. This continuation of the Alone in the Dark legacy aims to combine nostalgia with modern gaming technology and storytelling.

Why has the Alone in the Dark reboot been delayed a second time?

The delay to 20 March 2024 aims to prevent developer Pieces Interactive from overworking and ensures the final product will meet the high standards expected by both THQ Nordic and the fans.
