Microsoft's Xbox Insiders can now assign keyboard buttons to their Xbox controller, a feature currently only available for Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and Xbox Adaptive Controller owners.
However, as this feature is exclusively accessible for Insiders at present, there are certain limitations. For instance, when using modification keys (Shift, Ctrl, or Alt), users can only create combinations of up to three buttons.
The function may be partially or entirely unusable in some games, and it's not allowed to assign key buttons via Bluetooth on PC. To assign keyboard keys to their controller, users need to open the Xbox Accessories app, select 'configure', and then set up a new profile or edit an existing one. Following this, they need to select the button to assign, choose 'Primary' or 'Shift', and open the "new Key" tab.
In related news, there may have been a leak regarding the Stormcloud Vapor Xbox controller, and it was revealed that Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have postponed the acquisition deadline to October.
