Baldur's Gate 3 players may soon face a potentially terrifying new difficulty level, according to gaming website IGN. A recent unachievable achievement spotted by fans on the GOG PC Storefront, titled "Foehammer," hints at a new level of difficulty named "Honour Mode."

The popular videogame currently boasts three levels of difficulty: Explorer, Balance, and Tactician. However, no official announcement has been made by the game's developer, Larian Studios, about the introduction of the rumoured Honour Mode, sparking speculation among fans.

In Larian's Divinity: Original Sin 2, Honour Mode represented a challenging version of Tactician difficulty, with added twists, including having only one save file and instant game over if one's party dies. Despite the eagerness of players for a similar option in Baldur's Gate 3, an Honour Mode was absent when the game was released from Early Access in August.

Meanwhile, fans seeking a tough challenge had to satisfy themselves with an unofficial Tactician Plus mod. Despite the lack of Honour mode, Baldur's Gate 3 has been a resounding success, surpassing Larian Studios' expectations. In its review, IGN gave the game a perfect score of 10 out of 10.
