Baldur's Gate 3 studio assures no shortage of physical copies on launch

Nov 24, 2023 10:39 AM

Fans of the highly anticipated Baldur's Gate 3 can breathe easy with news from Larian Studios stating there will be no shortage of the game's physical edition. Michael Douse of Larian confirmed that plenty of copies for the Deluxe Edition will be available. Despite a quick sell-out on their official site, restocks will occur regularly with expectations of more copies being available throughout the first quarter of 2024.

The Deluxe Edition physical copy of Baldur's Gate 3 is priced at €79.99 and includes €20 shipping fees. The package isn't just the game, but an array of physical and digital extras. Buyers can look forward to a three-CD soundtrack, stickers, patches, a world map poster, and more. It also comes with digital goodies such as an in-game soundtrack, an artbook, character sheets, and exclusive game items like a skin for dice and a Divinity series item pack.

For those who prefer not to wait, Baldur's Gate 3 is currently available digitally for PlayStation 5 and PC. The Xbox Series X and S edition will hit the market later this year, with the precise release date to be announced at The Game Awards event on December 7-8.

Players and collectors are advised against resorting to scalpers due to the eventual ample supply. With the reassurance of ongoing restocks, the community is encouraged to purchase at the standard rate directly from official sources.

Good on Larian Studios for ensuring that the hype for Baldur's Gate 3's Deluxe Edition doesn't fuel a scalpers' paradise. It's refreshing to see a developer proactively manage stock levels to keep the community focused on enjoying the game rather than worrying about snagging a physical copy.
