These remasters, which initially appeared on the Nintendo Switch in 2023, feature updated graphics and new gameplay mechanics to streamline the experience. Players can look forward to improvements like the elimination of random battles, an auto-battle mode, and a one-hit kill option. The games employ the Magnus Battle System, a unique card-based mechanic that requires quick thinking. This drop also includes a ‘Month-1’ edition offering extras like concept art and development documents, available until July 17, 2024.

What improvements are included in Baten Kaitos 1 & 2 HD Remaster?

The remasters feature enhanced visuals, elimination of random battles, an auto-battle function, and a one-hit kill option, making the gameplay more fluid and accessible to modern players.

Baten Kaitos is a series developed by Monolith Soft and tri-Crescendo. The first game, Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, was released in 2003 and follows Kalas on his quest for revenge against the Alfard Empire. The prequel, Baten Kaitos Origins, launched in 2006 and centers on Sagi, a member of the Alfard Empire's Dark Service, who is framed and must uncover the empire's secrets. These games are known for their distinct card-based combat system and deep storytelling, setting them apart in the RPG genre.
