Jun 25, 2024 11:06 AM

The anticipation for The Batman's sequel continues to build, as Andy Serkis, who portrays Alfred Pennyworth, reveals the filming schedule. Although the release has been postponed to October 2, 2026, Serkis confirmed that production is likely to start early next year. This update gives fans something to look forward to despite the delay. Matt Reeves is hard at work on the script, and fans can expect another quality narrative. Additionally, the spin-off series featuring The Penguin will arrive on the streaming service Max this September.

When will The Batman 2 start filming?

According to Andy Serkis, filming is likely to begin early next year.

The Batman, a 2022 reboot directed by Matt Reeves, offered a darker, grittier interpretation of Gotham City with Robert Pattinson donning the cape and cowl. The film was praised for its unique take on the iconic character and its compelling narrative. The sequel's delay may disappoint fans, but the ongoing development promises to maintain the high standard set by its predecessor. Additionally, the expansion of this universe through the upcoming Penguin series further enriches the lore, giving fans more content to immerse themselves in while they wait.
