Game Science, the developer behind the acclaimed action game Black Myth: Wukong, has expressed frustration over the absence of an Xbox version, attributing it to optimization issues related to the Xbox Series S. The studio's CEO Feng Ji made this revelation on Weibo while celebrating the game’s success at the 2024 Steam awards. He noted that the Series S’s 10GB of shared memory presents significant challenges for optimization, which is critical for the game’s performance and gameplay experience. This situation mirrors other developers' challenges with the Series S, as seen with the delayed release of Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox. The game achieved remarkable success, selling 18 million copies in just two weeks with revenues surpassing $700 million, showcasing its popularity among PC and PS5 users.
