Blizzard Entertainment has publicly apologized after its online gaming service, Battle.net, faced severe login issues. This problem affected their authentication services, making it difficult or even impossible for players to log in. At the time of reporting this, Battle.net was still offline.
The company expressed its regret and assured its player base they were working hard to identify the problem and fix it as soon as possible. Due to this unexpected outage, a lot of Blizzard's games, including the much-anticipated Diablo 4, couldn't be played.
Interestingly, Blizzard plans to launch Diablo 4 along with Overwatch 2 on rival platform, Steam, later this month. This outage occurred just one day after Blizzard announced major updates for Diablo 4's Season 2, called Season of Blood. Moreover, fans are looking forward to a big reveal for World of Warcraft at BlizzCon in November.
As regards the issue with Battle.net, Blizzard hasn't provided a definite solution timeline yet. More updates are expected soon.
In related news, recent updates to other games have been mentioned. CD Projekt Red is set to release the Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.01, and details of all the changes in the Diablo 4 Patch 1.2.0 have been given. Moreover, the series finale of Ahsoka has laid the groundwork for an upcoming Star Wars movie. PlayStation also appears to have a leg up on future 'half-sequels', while game reviews and announcements for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Star Trek: Nemesis, and Forza Motorsport have also been reported.
