Destiny 2 developer Bungie has been hit by lay-offs, joining a growing number of videogame studios downsizing in 2023 according to reports. The number of staff affected remains unclear, with CEO, Pete Parsons having notified them of an impending meeting for more details. The news follows recent job cuts by fellow PlayStation Studios developer, Media Molecule, and F1 Manager studio, Frontier Developments.

Similarly, The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 developer, CD Projekt Red, has seen multiple rounds of lay-offs ahead of significant development boosts. Even Epic Games laid off a substantial 830 employees, severely impacting Fall Guys developer Mediatonic, with other studios such as Telltale Games and Worms creator Team17 also seeing major job losses.
