The sequel to "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor" is already in development, according to Cameron Monaghan, the actor who provides the voice and motion capture for the character Cal Kestis. Monaghan disclosed this update during a panel at the Ocala Comic Con, stating they are in an early phase of the third game's development.

Interestingly, Stig Asmussen, the director of the first two Star Wars Jedi games, is set to exit Respawn Entertainment. Though he had previously shown interest in developing the Star Wars Jedi series into a trilogy, with his departure, the implementation of this idea now rests in new hands.

The sequel's early-stage announcement correlates with a prior revelation from job listings in July, suggesting that the sequel was already undergoing development. However, confirmation from Monaghan is the first substantive proof of the game's existence.

"Star Wars Jedi: Survivor", which was released in April of the current year, was generally well-received, despite requiring some additional improvements post-release. The review emphasized the game's strengths while noting that it didn't necessarily excel in narrative structure or action engagement. The mention of Monaghan already being included in the developmental stage is surprising as voice performances usually happen late in the development. This might point towards the focus given to the character of Cal in the upcoming sequel.
