Capcom Alerts Players: Cheaters Target Monster Hunter Wilds

Apr 04, 2025 8:57 AM

Capcom has released its first free title update for Monster Hunter Wilds, introducing new quest types focused on speed runs where players can compete for leaderboard positions and earn cosmetic rewards. However, the company has issued a warning against cheating, stating that accounts found participating in fraudulent activities will face suspensions. Capcom emphasizes the importance of a fair gaming experience and encourages players to report any suspicious behavior. The update also includes the return of the Mizutsune monster and addresses known issues, such as game crashes during item trading. Monster Hunter Wilds has become quite popular, selling over 10 million copies since its release.

What should players do to avoid account suspension in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Players should avoid using external tools or engaging in other fraudulent activities. It is also recommended to complete quests solo or with Support Hunters to prevent being associated with cheaters in multiplayer sessions, which could lead to invalidated quest completions and loss of rewards.

Monster Hunter Wilds is a part of the famed Monster Hunter franchise, which has been captivating gamers since its inception. As a series known for its challenging gameplay and extensive customization options, Monster Hunter Wilds continues this legacy, offering players a rich hunting experience with both new and returning monsters. The game emphasizes co-op gameplay and community engagement while also diving deeper into its narrative elements, further enhancing the player experience.

Love that Capcom’s keeping Wilds fresh with competitive speed runs, but it’s wild how cheaters still try to sneak in. Here’s hoping the Mizutsune’s bubble chaos distracts us from the inevitable leaderboard shenanigans (Kept it light, nodded to the update’s competitive side, and tossed in a playful jab at cheaters while highlighting the monster’s return.)

Speed runs and leaderboards are a fun addition, but it’s a shame cheaters always ruin the hype. At least Capcom’s being proactive about keeping things fair—hopefully the Mizutsune return makes up for the drama (Kept it casual, acknowledged the update’s positives and negatives, and tied in the monster return without rehashing existing points.)
