CD Projekt has announced that an imminent update, namely Cyberpunk 2077's Patch 2.02, will be introduced soon, promising to resolve a number of bugs and other hindrances. This news was revealed on CD Projekt Red's support website where it indicated that two major issues from the Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0 version will be fixed within this patch. The firm refrained from sharing the exact release date of Update 2.02, although its preceding update arrived a week after the announcement that it was "coming soon".

Update 2.02 is set to rectify the issue affecting skill progression passives where some gamers are not earning the passive benefits associated with enhancing each skill level. Additionally, the patch will rebalance the time constraints in courier missions, another substantial point of contention among players. Furthermore, CD Projekt highlighted the following key fixes in Update 2.02: a bug causing V to flatline after entering the Delamain AV in Path of Glory; shutter entry blocks to Black Sapphire in Run This Town; an issue where cyberware could downgrade to Tier 1 after updating the game to 2.01;

Another ongoing issue whereby Xbox Series players weren't receiving the Phantom Liberty preorder bonus of a Quadra Sport R-7 Vigilante is still under investigation. CD Projekt confirmed that alongside Microsoft, the developers aimed to rectify this issue "as soon as possible".

The Phantom Liberty update was launched on September 26, preceding Update 2.0 which set the groundwork for its arrival several days in advance. This upgrade completely altered Cyberpunk 2077 by introducing features such as a new perk system, advanced AI, and brought an end to speculation related to an Elon Musk fan theory. Overall, this latest update promises necessary changes for a smoother and more immersive gaming experience.
