According to two sources cited by German GameTwo, AI program ChatGPT might have been used to draft the online apology by the creators of The Lord of The Rings: Gollum, Daedalic Entertainment, for the poor quality of this game. This decision may have been made without Daedalic's knowledge by the publisher, Nacon. The game, launched earlier in the year, was widely panned for its shortcomings and ended up achieving the lowest score for any game that year.

In their online apology, the Gollum developers stated, "We recognize and regret that the game did not live up to expectations we had set. Please accept our sincere apologies for the disappointment."

Interesting enough, Daedalic Entertainment has decided to stop developing games altogether. They have canceled all games that were in progress, including another one based on The Lord of The Rings. Their focus will be now directed towards publishing games developed by other studios.
