Exciting news for all the gaming fans out there! Chris Metzen is taking over as the executive creative director of the Warcraft franchise. This huge announcement was unveiled on social media recently.

If you're unaware who Chris is, he's a veteran in the gaming scene. He was a part of the team that worked on the original Warcraft game, Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, and his contributions ranged from creating amazing illustrations to voicing various characters in Blizzard games.

However, Metzen decided to leave the team in 2016, but he came back last year to serve as an advisor for the Warcraft franchise. Now, he's moving up in the ranks and expected to have an even bigger influence on the franchise.

"Our main goal is to craft the next generation of adventures. Chris was instrumental in developing the foundation of the WoW universe, and we're psyched that he's going to be shaping its future alongside our teams," says the team at Blizzard. They also hinted that they'll share more details of their plans at Blizzcon, which will take place on the 3rd and 4th of November at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

Metzen himself is equally excited about this new journey, saying, "It's incredible to be back working on Warcraft. It feels like coming home. We're currently crafting some really cool narratives - how the world unfolds over the next few years... I can't wait for you all to see where it leads."

That's not all! Given the massive popularity of the MMO World of Warcraft and its various expansions over the decades, there's a growing hope among fans that the Warcraft franchise might return in other forms or genres as well. So, stay tuned, gamers! We can't wait to find out what's next.
