Coco Sequel Confirmed: Disney Pixar’s Beloved Film Returns

Disney-Pixar has officially announced the development of a sequel to the beloved animated film Coco, titled Coco 2. CEO Bob Iger revealed during the company's shareholder meeting that the new film will be filled with humor, heart, and adventure, although it is still in its early stages. The original Coco, celebrated for its stunning animation and heartfelt storytelling, won two Academy Awards and several other prestigious accolades, making it a standout release in 2017.

Fans can expect the original creative team to return for Coco 2, including director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina, along with producer Mark Nielsen, known for previous hits such as Toy Story 4. In addition to the movie, the Coco franchise is expanding to include a new Disney Parks attraction set to open at Disneyland's California Adventure Park in 2026, showcasing beloved characters and resembling the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
