The early access release date for Mortal Kombat 1 DLC character Omni-Man was inadvertently revealed through the Xbox console storefront. Voiced by J.K. Simmons, Omni-Man is derived from the series "Invincible" and is set to be accessible in early access form on November 6. The character's attacks incorporate elements from the comic-book and show. Omni-Man will debut as the first playable character in Mortal Kombat's Kombat Pack 1 and will be available either as a standalone fighter or as part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition.

Despite criticisms for similarities in power and abilities, Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat development chief, stated that Omni-Man and Homelander from "The Boys" will not be clones of each other. Other DLC characters included in Kombat 1 are Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda. Publisher Warner Bros. Games has yet to confirm the Omni-Man release date.

Recently, Mortal Kombat 1 came under scrutiny due to an upcoming paid Fatality and performance and graphics issues with the Nintendo Switch version.
