The cult Japanese horror game The Exit 8 is making its transition to film with a newly released trailer and a scheduled premiere date of August 29, 2025, in Japan. This adaptation, produced by Toho, follows the chilling storyline where players are trapped in an endlessly looping subway, requiring them to spot environmental clues to escape. Since its Steam launch in November 2023, the game has garnered a dedicated fanbase, leading to additional releases on Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and even mobile platforms. Genki Kawamura, noted for his work on various films, will direct the movie, starring Kazunari Ninomiya as the lead.
