In the latest expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 named Phantom Liberty, the voice of the late actor Mi?ogost Reczek has been resuscitated using artificial intelligence. Previously, Reczek voiced the character 'ripperdoc' Viktor Vektor, but tragically passed away shortly after the game was released. Nevertheless, his character also reappears in the newly released expansion, which is why CD Projekt Red decided to use AI technology to replicate the actor's voice. A new voice actor was thus hired to record the lines before they were altered via a program, Respeecher, to resemble Reczek's distinctive vocal tone. With permission secured from the actor's family, as reported to Bloomberg, CD Projekt Red made this unique choice considering Reczek was renowned as "one of the best Polish voice actors". Initially, there were plans to entirely re-record Vektor's voice using another actor, but the ultimate decision was to retain Reczek’s voice out of respect for his talent.
