CD Projekt RED has announced that the upcoming Patch 2.01 for their hit game Cyberpunk 2077 will address several major issues, including save corruption and performance problems. The update is not final, but this preview emphasizes the most critical improvements.

Pertinently, the patch will target the issue of corrupted save files on PlayStation by increasing the maximum file size allowed for saves. However, this will not retroactively fix the already corrupted save files. Thus, users who are dealing with this issue are advised to maintain a functioning save file until the release of Patch 2.01.

Furthermore, the distorted visual effect that appears on-screen after selecting a certain conversation option with the character Johnny in the "Automatic Love" mission will cease to occur. The update will also resolve the issue of V's erratic death in "The Heist" on the elevator ride to the 42nd floor, which was linked to low FPS.

The user interface will no longer display controller inputs when a keyboard and mouse are in use. Players will also be able to smoothly alternate to arm cyberware by cycling through weapons.

The infamous "Gig: Breaking News" will now be correctly activated after reaching the quest area. Additionally, the audio volume for in-game vehicle radios will be tweaked so it isn't too soft relative to other game sounds.

The patch also promises performance improvements for both PCs and consoles, especially in the Dogtown area. Along with this patch, Cyberpunk 2077 launched its newest expansion, "Phantom Liberty," and Patch 2.0, both available to current-gen consoles and PCs. The expansion "Phantom Liberty" is purchasable at most storefronts for around £24.99 or the equivalent in local currency.
