Three years since Xbox and CD Projekt Red released a limited edition Cyberpunk 2077-themed Xbox One X console, customers are expressing their disappointment due to the delay in their promised refund for the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC.

The limited edition console package was priced at $400 and included a Cyberpunk-themed controller, a digital copy of Cyberpunk 2077, a one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial, and a promise of the "future first expansion release" per a Best Buy listing. Yet, after CD Projekt's 2022 announcement of ending development on the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Cyberpunk 2077, meaning Phantom Liberty would not be available on these platforms, many console owners are still waiting for the promised Microsoft store credits as reimbursement.

Confusion regarding the delayed refunds has been mounting in online forums such as Reddit and X (formerly Twitter). Customers have reached out to customer support from both Microsoft and CD Projekt, only to be redirected to the other company. While some users have pointed out that the DLC was still awarded to the Xbox account attached to the console, it doesn't help those without a Series S or X console.

Rebekah Valentine from IGN reached out to CD Projekt and was informed that Microsoft would soon be contacting the affected customers. We're awaiting further details from Microsoft on this issue. It's unfortunate that Phantom Liberty didn't release for the last generation, given the 9/10 review score it received, labeling it as a strong turnaround for CD Projekt Red's future RPG. Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
