Gkids has announced a theatrical release for the first three episodes of the highly anticipated anime series, Dandadan, ahead of its Netflix and Crunchyroll premiere. The screenings will begin in Asia on August 31, Europe on September 7, and North America on September 13, with select U.S. theaters in New York and Los Angeles participating. The series, produced by the same studio behind Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and Devilman Crybaby, follows high schoolers Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura as they confront supernatural phenomena. An exclusive video interview with the creator and principal cast will also be part of the theater experience. The anime will officially debut on Netflix and Crunchyroll in October.

Dandadan, created by Tatsu Yukinobu, is a popular supernatural manga series brought to life by Science Saru studio. The story centers on Momo Ayase, a descendant of spirit mediums, and her classmate Ken Takakura, who has a fascination with the occult. Their adventures start when they discover that both ghosts and aliens are real and need each other's help to deal with these extraordinary beings. Science Saru is also known for their distinct animation styles, including notable works like Devilman Crybaby and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, which have received praise for their visual creativity and storytelling.
