Disney has announced a reshuffling of their upcoming film release schedule which impacts the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for 2024 and 2025. As a result, "Deadpool 3" will now be the only MCU film released by Disney in 2024, with its premiere date moved from May 3 to July 26.

The releases of "Captain America: Brave New World" and "Thunderbolts," originally set for 2024, have been postponed to February 14 and July 25 of 2025, respectively. The planned "Blade" movie has also been delayed to November 7, 2025, and two previously untitled movies set for those new dates have been removed from the schedule entirely. Now, four MCU films are poised to launch in 2025, with "Fantastic Four" maintaining its May 2, 2025 release.

The readjustments come after an industry strike that put several productions at risk. Following the strike’s conclusion, production on these films, including "Deadpool 3," is expected to proceed. Star Ryan Reynolds has teased fans with an image of Dogpool as the film heads back into production.

Additionally, the Disney's "Lion King" spin-off titled "Mufasa" has been moved to release on December 20, 2024. Sony's "Venom 3" also faced a schedule change, shifting to November 8, 2024, but Sony still plans to release three comic book films next year, including "Madame Web" and "Kraven the Hunter." In comparison, DC has one release, "Joker: Folie à Deux," set for October 4, 2024.
