The design team behind Cyberpunk 2077's expansion, Phantom Liberty, will be working on the game's sequel. This information was revealed by CD Projekt Red during a presentation to investors. Previously, the company indicated the existence of the game's sequel under the codename Project Orion, but it has now shared more detailed plans.

A new team called CD Projekt Red North America will be primarily handling the sequel's development. Additionally, studios from Vancouver and Boston will also participate in the project. The sequel is currently in its conceptual phase and is being created by seasoned developers who were responsible for polishing Cyberpunk 2077 and designing Phantom Liberty. The plan is to increase the number of developers working on the game by the end of 2024, with half of them working from North America and the other half from Poland.

It was also noted that up to date, 25 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077 have been sold, with the Phantom Liberty expansion having sold three million copies in its first week.

The company also shared news of an upcoming live-action project revolving around Cyberpunk 2077, along with a new update for the game.
