The popular game Payday 3 has been facing numerous challenges following its launch. Developers have been dealing with constant connectivity issues, matchmaking problems, and overall instability, which has hampered the gaming experience for users, reflecting poorly in Steam user reviews of the game.

As a response, the developer Starbreeze is considering implementing an offline mode for single players and considering a change in the game's matchmaking service provider.

The continuous internet connectivity required by Payday 3, even for single players, seems to be a crucial factor in the hiccups experienced by the game. The issues were reportedly caused by the third-party matchmaking service on which the game relies. An error in the service created an unrecoverable situation, and despite updates to the software, more instability followed.

Despite the launch troubles, the game's underlying product quality remains steadfast, with impressive metrics including over 218,250 concurrent players across all platforms. However, the developers admit they have a significant amount of work ahead to win back the trust of the player community.

Starbreeze CEO, Tobias Sjogren, expressed disappointment over the launch challenges but remains confident in the game's potential.
