Bithell Games has officially announced Tron: Catalyst, the latest game set in the beloved Tron universe. This title is the first under Devolver Digital's Big Fan label, which aims to connect indie developers with popular intellectual properties. Players will step into the role of Exo, a program possessing unique abilities, battling through various challenges in a visually immersive Arq Grid. Unlike the previous Tron: Identity game, which was a visual novel, Catalyst leans heavily into action, featuring Light Cycle races and intense combat against the antagonist, Conn. The game is scheduled for release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch in 2025, coinciding with a new Tron film debuting the same year.

What is Tron: Catalyst about?

Tron: Catalyst is an action-centric game where players navigate the Arq Grid as Exo, a resilient program with the power of Glitch, combatting the malevolent program Conn while uncovering the secrets surrounding glitches threatening the digital world.

This new entry in the Tron franchise builds on the legacy of the original 1982 film, which has continued to influence gaming and media since its release. The design aesthetic and narrative themes from Tron have inspired numerous adaptations, making it a nostalgic cornerstone for gamers who have grown up with the franchise.
