Offline Servers for Dino Shooter Game Second Extinction Announced for 2024

Systemic Reaction has announced plans to take the servers for the shooting game Second Extinction offline in 2024. The game, which is unplayable online, can no longer be purchased via Steam or the Microsoft Store, although existing owners can continue to play this year. The exact date for the servers to go offline hasn't been disclosed, but Systemic Reaction promises to provide ample warning.

In Second Extinction, three players cooperate to liberate the earth from mutated dinosaurs, necessitating a unique combination of different players' weapons and skills. The game, which launched in early access on PC in 2020 and on Xbox consoles a year later, was being prepared for a definitive release. The developer, however, has realized the cost of completing development is too high. No layoffs will be executed at Systemic Reaction, the company assures.
