They envisioned a gaming universe that would tie together various Marvel games, allowing players to cross-over characters and lore, but complex storytelling questions led Disney executives to back away from the plan. Although this Marvel Gaming Universe didn’t materialize, the popularity of Marvel Rivals remains strong, attracting over 40 million players.
