Dutch Postman Game 'LAKE' Heading to Switch

Feb 12, 2024 8:44 AM

The serene delivery adventure 'Lake' from Dutch studio Gamious is set to release on the Nintendo Switch on February 15th. Originally launched in 2021 on other platforms, 'Lake' offers players a chance to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and step into the shoes of Meredith Weiss, a character in need of a respite in the quaint town of Providence Oaks in 1986. Here, she serves as a postwoman, delivering mail to the town's vibrant inhabitants, while enjoying the beauty of a lake that adds tranquility to the experience. Gamious, the Haarlem-based developer, is known for crafting unique gaming experiences and is currently working on a word game for mobile devices called 'Words in Progress'. The launch of 'Lake' on Switch is celebrated with a trailer for eager fans.

What platforms is Lake available on?
nLake is available on multiple platforms including Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and with its new release, it is now also available on the Nintendo Switch.

Lake by Gamious represents a niche of contemplative and narrative-driven games that have found a unique place in the gaming world, often referred to as "walking simulators" or "narrative adventures". These games focus on storytelling and character development rather than action-packed gameplay. They provide a much-needed change of pace within the industry and often explore deeper themes such as life choices, personal growth, and the beauty in everyday experiences. 'Lake' with its setting in a picturesque small town mirrors this sentiment, inviting players to connect with a simpler time and find joy in the mundane tasks like delivering mail, reminiscent of the slower pace of life in the 1980s.
