Electronic Arts (EA) confirms that the upcoming Iron Man game will be running on Unreal Engine 5, according to EA's recent announcement.

The engine was first mentioned in a job listing earlier this year, but has now been confirmed by Patrick Klaus, the general manager of Motive Studio, in a blog post. Klaus says they're currently in pre-production, taking their time "to ensure that we establish the best possible foundation for development.", but also mentioned they are already encountering many opportunities to explore the story, design, and gameplay around Iron Man, and it's fantastic to see the fantasy becoming a reality.

Klaus also disclosed in his post that a 'Community Council' comprised of Iron Man and Marvel fans has been established, and these fans will provide feedback throughout the development process - a practice Motive Studio also used for the Dead Space remake.

There are not many details about the Iron Man game as of now, except that it will be a single-player game with a third-person perspective. No images of the game have been made public yet, and it is unclear on which systems the game will be available, though PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC are quite likely choices.
