EA Sports FC 24 has launched successfully, becoming the UK's second largest physical game launch this year, beaten only by Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
However, the rebranded football game's physical sales are down by 30% compared to last year's FIFA 23.
Although exact numbers are yet to be revealed, industry insights reveal that EAFC 24's physical launch sales have been impressive.
However, this does not mean that its performance matches that of its predecessor.
The EA expected that the rebranding could impact the game's short-term sales, asking questions about whether the money saved from not paying FIFA licensing fees was worthwhile.
Interestingly, UK launch sales of EAFC 24 on Nintendo Switch have slightly increased compared to FIFA 23.
This is likely because it's the first new version of the game on Switch, rather than just an update of kits and players.
Another exciting update in EAFC 24 is the inclusion of “Evolutions” in Ultimate Team, allowing users to upgrade the stats of lower-rated players.
Although its launch sales are down compared to last year, EAFC 24 is showing promising performance in the gaming market.
