Elden Ring DLC: FromSoftware Tests Players' Limits

The Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, is set to launch on June 21, 2024, and promises to be FromSoftware's toughest release yet. According to director Hidetaka Miyazaki, the new DLC will feature at least ten new bosses with the optional ones posing the greatest challenges. Players will need to complete certain in-game feats to access the DLC, making the journey anything but straightforward. A major patch has been released, adding new hairstyles, quality of life improvements, and the ability to summon Spirit Steed Torrent in the final fight. Despite some bugs, excitement is building for what is pegged as a landmark addition to the game.

The new bosses in Shadow of the Erdtree are significantly tougher than those in the base game and other FromSoftware titles like Dark Souls and Sekiro. Optional bosses, in particular, will pose the most significant challenge to players.
