Elizabeth Olsen Joins 2025 Marvel Zombies Animated Series

Nov 15, 2024 5:13 PM

Marvel Studios has confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Scarlet Witch in the upcoming animated series Marvel Zombies. This series, which will have a TV-MA rating, follows a storyline where familiar characters, including Shang-Chi and others from the Marvel franchise, are overrun by zombies in a post-apocalyptic world. The four-episode series is set to premiere on Disney+ on October 3, 2025. Alongside Olsen, the cast features talented voices such as Simu Liu, Awkwafina, and Florence Pugh, among others. The teaser showcased a compelling narrative that includes a time jump, delivering an intense take on the zombie apocalypse.

Will Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch return to live-action in the MCU?

While there’s been speculation about her return after her character’s fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans are hopeful following Olsen's statement expressing her willingness to reprise the role if there’s a good story to tell. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige hinted at future plans involving Scarlet Witch, keeping the door open for exciting developments.

Marvel Zombies is a spin-off series inspired by the comic book series of the same name, where iconic heroes become flesh-eating zombies. The franchise has steadily expanded since the inception of Marvel animated and live-action projects, with audiences eager to see how this darker tone will be embraced within the MCU.
