The top executive of Epic Games Store, Sergiy Galyonkin, has announced his departure from the company. He stated that he no longer fits into the future plans of the company as it transforms from a game developer, engine creator, and publisher into a platform (Epic 5.0).

Sergiy was a key figure in the development and evolution of the Epic Games Store, with his experience creating Steam Spy, a website that collects and analyzes data from Steam users.

Prior to his departure, Epic Games announced the layoff of around 830 employees, although it's unclear whether Sergiy's exit is related to this.

Throughout his statement, he expressed gratitude towards his former colleagues and Tim Sweeney, Epic Games' founder, for their collaborative effort in building Epic 4.0.

He aims to continue working in the gaming industry, but his exact next steps remain uncertain. This development has sparked speculation among the gaming community about the future of the Epic Games Store.
