Magic: The Gathering fans have something new to look forward to as the popular game plans to release new crossover cards, this time featuring the Jurassic World universe. The latest addition to the game includes cards spotlighting key characters and scenes from the Jurassic Park movies, including a card for Owen Grady, portrayed by actor Chris Pratt. Other cards show his raptor companion Blue, the classic "Clever Girl" raptor scene, and a double-sided basic Mountain image depicting the island's central mountain in a peaceful state on one side, and erupting with lava on the other.
A total of 26 cards are being prepared for the Jurassic World Collection—each with a 1-in-12 chance of appearing in Set Boosters for the upcoming Lost Caverns of Ixalan set. Interestingly, setting Ixalan is known for its numerous dinosaurs, which makes it an appropriate setting for the Jurassic Park crossover. The Lost Caverns of Ixalan set is officially expected to launch on November 17.
Wizards of the Coast, the creators of Magic: The Gathering, also recently revealed plans for a crossover with Marvel slated for 2025, raising the possibility that Chris Pratt's role as Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could make him the first real person to appear on two Magic cards as two different characters, however this is merely speculation at this stage.
