THQ Nordic has unveiled an extended gameplay trailer for the much-anticipated revival of the classic horror title, Alone in the Dark, setting the stage for its release on January 16, 2024.
In the nearly eight-minute "Looking for Jeremy" trailer, we get a glimpse of dual protagonists Edward Carnby, portrayed by David Harbour of Stranger Things fame, and Emily Hartwood, played by Jodie Comer, as they explore the ominous Derceto Manor.
The trailer showcases suspenseful moments where both characters encounter enemies, with Edward seen navigating through eerie environments and Emily in action-packed scenarios, defending herself against immediate threats.
The game allows players to experience the story through either character's perspective, promising a unique take on the narrative for each. In addition to the dark, creepy streets, the trailer also reveals contrasting settings within the manor and surrounding areas, like a swampy farmland.
After its initial announcement in August 2022, the game experienced a delay from its intended release, which was set after the availability of a self-contained demo in May 2023. Yet, fans are now assured of the new launch date in January 2024.
The horror genre enthusiasts have much to look forward to with the new Alone in the Dark title, delivering a blend of classic suspense and modernized gameplay.
