Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman has revealed that his experience directing the sitcom "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" will influence his approach to the upcoming Marvel film. Shakman, responsible for 43 episodes of the comedy series, noted the importance of combining playfulness with precision, elements he plans to bring to the Fantastic Four. He also highlighted the value of collaborative improvisation which he learned from working with the Always Sunny cast.

Though details are scarce, what's known about the Fantastic Four is that the movie will not be an origin story, as Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige believes fans are familiar with the group's beginnings. The film will mark the start of the MCU's Phase 6. Shakman, who also directed WandaVision, chose to return to Marvel after dropping out of the latest Star Trek film project, finding the opportunity with Marvel too compelling to turn down. Josh Friedman, known for his work on "Avatar: The Way of Water," is reportedly involved in scripting this first MCU Fantastic Four movie.

In related news, Disney has rescheduled several MCU film release dates, with Deadpool 3 now being the lone MCU release in 2024, pushing others like "Captain America: Brave New World" and "Thunderbolts" into 2025. Fans are currently waiting for more details regarding the plot and cast of the Fantastic Four.
