The first downloadable content (DLC) for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, dubbed 'Hidden Treasure of Area Zero', is set to be available for the Nintendo Switch from the 13th of September. The Pokémon Company announced the news in a recent Pokémon Direct live stream.

The DLC, known as 'The Teal Mask', will introduce the paradox forms of Raikou and Cobalion to both games. A second DLC called 'The Indigo Disk' will also be released in winter 2023.

In addition to new characters and game evolution in this upcoming DLC, players will be able to explore new schools and environments and compete against a new Elite Four lineup.

In more exciting news for Pokémon fans, the rare creatures Mew and Mewtwo are also joining the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet roster. Players can add Mew to their collection using the Mystery Gift code - 'GETY0URMEW' before September 18. Mewtwo, equipped with the Mightiest Mark, can be caught from September 1st to 18th in the seven-star Tera Raids.
