Dec 21, 2023 3:23 PM

Cyan, the renowned developer behind the classic Myst series, has unveiled the first look at their highly anticipated project, the Riven remake. Officially titled Riven: New Discoveries from the Lost D’ni Empire, this modern remake promises to transform the original point-and-click adventure into a fully 3D experience. Unlike the static screens of the past, players can expect an immersive world to explore. While the release date is yet to be announced, the game is confirmed to launch on Steam and GOG, exciting fans who have eagerly awaited news since the project's announcement last year. The remake aims to follow the successful footsteps of Myst’s remake, which already made its debut on VR platforms, as well as PC, Mac, and Xbox consoles. Cyan, the creator of both Myst and Riven, has a reputation for crafting influential narrative-driven games, and this remake is expected to enrich the legacy.

What improvements will the Riven remake offer over the original game?

The Riven remake will feature a full 3D world, offering a more immersive and dynamic environment compared to the original’s pre-rendered static screens. This upgraded experience aims to bring a fresh perspective to the iconic title while preserving the essence of its captivating storytelling and puzzle-solving gameplay.
