The first trailer of the upcoming live-action Pokémon series, called 'Pokétsume', has been released in Japan. This not-so-traditional Pokémon show, loosely translated as 'Fill Your Pockets with Adventure', was first announced earlier this year.

It doesn't directly involve the famous pocket monsters themselves but instead focuses on a young woman named Madoka Agaki.

After graduating, Madoka decides to leave her small village job and moves to Tokyo for work at an advertising agency. The city life turns out to be super stressful. But when her mom sends her a Game Boy Pocket with Pokémon Red, she learns valuable life lessons while playing the game that she can apply in her real-life situation.

Starting from October 20th, the series will air every Thursday on TV Tokyo. It's currently unknown whether the show, co-produced with The Pokémon Company, will be released outside Japan in the future.

Playing the role of Madoka is Nanase Nishino, a former member of the Japanese music group Nogizaka46 who now works as an actress and TV presenter.
