Notably, gamer-favourite Alan Wake, the protagonist from the upcoming game ‘Alan Wake 2’, is now a featured skin available in the Fortnite’s Item Shop for Fortnitemares 2023 event, Epic Games has stated.
Alongside Alan Wake’s impressive ensemble, players will find more captivating items in the Waking Nightmare set, within the Shop. The developers have further heightened the anticipation by releasing a teaser trailer showcasing some thrilling Alan Wake gameplay tactics.
The Halloween festive theme also includes film-inspired outfits like Disney’s endearing Jack Skellington, the cheerful Pumpkin King from Tim Burton’s ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. The character's Santa Jack alternate style will also be available. Additional accessories include Zero Back Bling, Peppermint Parasol Pickaxe, and Jack's Sled Glider that come with two Emotes named Jack's Scary Face and Lock, Shock and Barrel's Tub Emote. Moreover, horror fans will be more than thrilled with the classic Michael Myers outfit that nods to the iconic Halloween film series. However, Epic Games also indicated the end of support for OS9 on Android devices. Going forward, starting from version v28.00, players intending to play Fortnite on Android will need OS10 or upward. The developers suggested alternatives including Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna for those who cannot upgrade to OS10. These platforms currently support OS9 Android devices, which allows users to continue playing Fortnite via streaming. Earlier this month, Epic Games has faced criticism for laying off 830 members of its workforce, raising questions about the company's strategic direction. CEO Tim Sweeney explained that the company’s current Fortnite growth is primarily driven by creator content that provides significant revenue sharing.
