Fortnite's Upcoming Major Update Goes Back to Its Battle Royale Chapter 1 Origins

Oct 27, 2023 7:15 PM

IGN has reported that Epic Games has announced the next major update to Fortnite, a popular battle royale game, will feature a return to its Chapter 1 roots. This update is set to maintain the well-received sprinting and mantling gameplay mechanics. A teasing image of the classic Fortnite battle bus was posted on Twitter, insinuating a return to the original Fortnite map.

Supplementing this, influencers have begun to receive care packages from Epic containing pins symbolizing different seasons from the first chapter of the game, as well as vinyl records with etchings of the Chapter 1 Season 5 map. Despite rumors, Epic has confirmed that the sprinting and mantling mechanics introduced in Chapter 2 and 3 of Fortnite will be preserved.

In other news, Epic Games recently had to lay off 830 of its employees due to financial difficulties as cited by CEO Tim Sweeney. The company also raised the prices of V-bucks, Fortnite's in-game currency in the USA and other countries.
