Dec 03, 2024 1:02 PM

In a recent announcement, Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that FromSoftware is not considering the development of Elden Ring 2 at this time. During the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 in Japan, he stated that while various projects are underway, none are direct continuations of the highly successful Elden Ring franchise. However, Miyazaki did indicate that the possibility of returning to the Elden Ring universe could be explored in the future. The studio, known for its acclaimed role-playing games, has several projects in progress, with diverse genres and some directed by Miyazaki himself.

Will there be an Elden Ring 2?

Currently, there are no plans for Elden Ring 2, but FromSoftware may consider revisiting the franchise in the future.

Elden Ring was released in February 2022 and quickly became a landmark title, garnering critical acclaim and selling over 25 million copies. This success firmly established it as a defining entry in the action role-playing genre, offering players an expansive open world filled with challenging combat and intricate lore. Fans have speculated about potential sequels or expansions, especially given the existing demand for new content from the beloved series.
