Attention all gaming enthusiasts! Gearbox Software, the firm behind the popular hero shooter game Gigantic, is reviving the game for one special weekend. Even though Gigantic was discontinued five years earlier, the company has decided to give fans a taste of nostalgia.
An email invite to this exclusive gaming throwback was shared by a Reddit user, TemptedTemplar. The invite says, "You're invited to play Gigantic (again) during our limited time throwback event,". The gaming community on Reddit is buzzing with excitement, as many members have also received this special invitation.
Mark your calendar, because this event will kick off on October 5 and run until October 6. The timings are set at 12 noon Pacific / 3pm Eastern / 8pm UK to 9pm Pacific / 12 midnight Eastern, ending at 5am UK on October 7.
The epic comeback of Gigantic is not just a replay of the old game. Gamers can expect to experience "never before seen features", including a Rush mode, new loadout system, and "revamped content". The team-based competitive action that made the game a huge hit will, of course, be back as well.
Back in November 2017, Gigantic developers Motiga was shut down, and the fate of the fan-loved game was also sealed in July 2018. Now, Gearbox is giving the game a new lease of life, albeit for a short period.
IGN has previously given the game a solid score of 7/10, praising its unique multi-phase game mode and massive monsters. However, they also mentioned that the game could use a bit more variety.
Are you ready for the Gigantic comeback? Remember, it's not just a game, it's a cherished memory that's making a brief return. So get your game face on and make the most of this limited time event!
