In a unique collaboration, leading game developer, Insomniac Games, and renowned American cereal brand, General Mills, have launched limited-edition Spider-Man 2 Wheaties priced at $70. In an effort to commemorate the introduction of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on the PS5, the specialty cereal gives fans an intimate glimpse of superheroes Peter Parker and Miles Morales in their iconic Spider-Man attire.
Note, the $70 pricing relates to the Wheaties box complete with an acrylic case, while the version without the custom case is available for a lesser $45. Despite the seemingly steep prices, each purchase promises two exclusive features: a prequel comic of Spider-Man 2, originally issued for Free Comic Book Day on May 6, featuring Peter, Miles, and MJ fighting against The Hood, a supervillain with mystical powers rivaling both Spider-Men, and a PSN voucher code that lets buyers claim a digital memento of the Spider-Man 2 Wheaties from PlayStation Stars, PS5 owners’ loyalty program.
As it stands, all 500 of the Spider-Man 2 Wheaties box outfitted with the acrylic case have sold out, classifying them as a collector's item. Conversely, the non-acrylic case variant is still for sale, from the 2,000 that were produced originally. Choose to purchase one package depicting Peter and another Miles for a combined cost of $140 for the acrylic versions and $90 for regular ones, will make your grocery expenses comparable to the height of the Empire State Building.
