The survival adventure game Grounded, previously an Xbox and PC exclusive, is set to release on the Nintendo Switch. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, a subsidiary of Microsoft, Grounded will be available in the eShop starting April 16. As a multiplayer experience, Grounded shrinks players down to the size of insects, where they must navigate through an oversized garden, build shelters, and fend off gigantic bugs. This title is the first of several games Microsoft plans to bring to Switch and PlayStation platforms.

Grounded is created by Obsidian Entertainment, a renowned developer within the gaming community known for their expertise in role-playing games. They are the creative minds behind titles such as Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity, and The Outer Worlds. The studio was acquired by Microsoft in 2018 and has since been part of the Xbox Game Studios family, contributing valuable exclusives to the Xbox lineup. Grounded first entered early access on PC and Xbox in July 2020 and has since received several updates based on player feedback. Its unique concept of a 'shrunk down' survival game set in a suburban backyard has been well-received, garnering a strong following attracted to its blend of exploration, base-building, and co-operative gameplay.
