Helldivers 2 Dev Races to Fix Major Bug Found by Players

May 31, 2024 1:05 PM

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead is rolling out a critical hotfix after players encountered a game-breaking bug in the latest Major Order, Operation Enduring Peace. This mission involves using weaponized Dark Fluid to transform the planet Meridia into a black hole, aiming to destroy the tyrannical Terminid supercolony. However, players reported issues with Bile Titans and breach holes spawning directly on objectives, making the mission near impossible on harder difficulties. The game's community manager confirmed that a hotfix is being deployed promptly. Given the mission's expiry date, some players suggest extending the Major Order's duration post-fix to allow more players to participate.

What was the bug affecting Operation Enduring Peace in Helldivers 2?

The bug involved Bile Titans and breach holes spawning directly on the objectives, making it extremely challenging, especially on higher difficulty levels.

Helldivers 2, a cooperative shooter for PlayStation 5 and PC, has seen immense success, becoming the fastest-selling PlayStation game ever with 12 million copies sold in 12 weeks. Despite this, Arrowhead has faced several challenges, including server issues at launch and a controversy over mandatory PSN account linking for Steam players. The studio is committed to enhancing the game by addressing bugs, balancing issues, and delivering meaningful content updates, ensuring sustained player engagement.
